Could this just possibly be due to the higher rates of induction, augmentation, and cesarean section that these mothers enjoy with obstetric care?
Probably! I can see no reason why older women ought to be treated as “high risk” ….
I also think it is a flawed assumption that the increasing age of women results in higher mortality. Association does not = causation.
