Hi there,

thanks for your query. I'm in Sydney, Australia, so I'm not familiar with the legal issues of VBAC in Florida, unfortunately. Perhaps you could contact some midwives in Florida as they might be able to provide more information.

I was wondering if you had heard of any updates or what came of the legal issue of VBAC's in Florida? I am currently living in Florida and would be considered a VBAC patient. I know the climate for VBACS are not good here (I know of only one doctor, in the entire state, that will approve VBACS for homebirth). She lives in Miami and is willing to travel to get you approved. Most midwives, however, do not offer this option. Did they succeed in getting this law passed or is the fight still on?

Dear Katie,
thanks for your email and I'm sorry to read about your situation. I'm not sure of the legality of midwifery and homebirth in Florida. Do you know of any midwives there? Maybe you could arrange a consultation with one and learn more about your options.
HTH and good luck,
Melissa.

I am interested in knowing how to go about doing a VBAC at home with twins in FL. Can independent midwives legally do it? I have already had 2 successful VBACs and the last was at home in the water. I never want to go back to a hospital if I don't have to. I just feel like there has to be a way to get what I want in this. It may mean traveling to another state. Can you legally bring in a midwife from another state to deliver for you? Can't find the answer to these questions anywhere so I thought I would ask.
Thanks
