Heartburn and indigestion in pregnancy

This is very common in pregnancy and occurs due to the effects of progesterone and the added pressure of the baby against the intestines. Try dietary changes – smaller, more frequent meals; a light dinner; avoid spicy and fatty foods. Eat raw almonds, pineapple or pawpaw after a meal. Sit upright for at least ½ hour after eating.
