Life can be easier when you breastfeed, even though it may take a little more effort initially. There are no bottles to sterilise and no formula to buy. Breastfeeding is entirely portable! Breastfeeding can save money: formula, sterilisers, bottles and teats are a significant cost, compared with breastfeeding which is free. Breastfeeding can feel great: it maximises the opportunities for mother-baby bonding and helps babies to feel safe and secure. This can make for a more settled baby ... and a settled baby means you get more sleep! Breastfeeding is linked to a lower risk of these health problems in women such as breast cancer, ovarian cancer and postnatal depression. Breastfeeding mothers also find that they miss fewer days from work owing to caring for a sick baby because babies who are fully breastfed experience fewer childhood illnesses.
