Pelvic Instability

Pelvic Instability is a fairly common problem in pregnancy.  It is caused by the hormones in pregnancy which can relax and soften the pelvis and its ligaments.  This is very helpful for birth, so that the pelvis is able to expand to allow the baby to be born.  Our bodies are pretty amazing in this way! However, during pregnancy it can cause some problems for women, including pain and discomfort.  Pain usually occurs around the pelvic bone area and is worse when walking, exercising or changing position.

Pelvic instability can be treated, and the symptoms managed and lessened.  Your midwife or doctor will be able to recommend therapies that can be helpful, such as chiropractic care and a supportive belt.
