When not to exercise in pregnancy

Pregnancy is a great time to continue your regular exercise program, or to start a gentle program if you do not already have one.  However, there are some signs that can indicate that you should stop and seek care from your midwife or doctor.

  • Vaginal spotting or bleeding - no matter how slight
  • Headaches, blurred vision or visual changes
  • If you feel dizzy or faint
  • Abdominal pain
  • Breathlessness or shortness of breath
