An induction with no epidural?

Yes, this is absolutely possible!  Many midwives and obstetricians will recommend an epidural alongside an induction because they believe that the contractions can be harder to cope with.  In my private practice, none of my induced clients has had an epidural; they have all found that their labours were absolutely manageable with  my continuous presence and care in labour.  An induction will mean being continuously monitored, and this may mean you'll need to be inventive in finding comfortable positions and using hot packs for comfort and relief.
