New models of care

Back in August, I announced that I was offering shared care with Westmead Hospital.  Two months later, this is proving to be a very popular option for women.  It means that women can have their pregnancy and postnatal care with me, at no cost. The only issue that has arisen is that some women have wanted to have this model of care, however they do not reside in the catchment area for Westmead.  It is important that women reside in the Westmead catchment area to have shared care with me through Westmead Hospital.  This means residing in the Holroyd, Parramatta or Hills local council areas.

For women outside of these areas, I am now offering the same type of care: pregnancy and postnatal care with one midwife, continuity of care, no waiting time for appointments, no cost, and a detailed program of education to support each woman through her pregnancy, birth and new parenting period.  Women accessing pregnancy and postnatal care who reside outside of Westmead Hospital's catchment area would simply need to bring a referral from a GP to their first appointment.  For more details, see my website.

This model of care is available to all women, provided that you can make it to appointments in Bexley or Westmead Private Hospital.  The sorts of hospitals that are within 30 minutes of these locations are:

  1. St George Hospital
  2. Sutherland Hospital
  3. Canterbury Hospital
  4. Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
  5. Royal North Shore Hospital
  6. The Royal Hospital for Women
  7. Blacktown Hospital
  8. Bankstown Hospital
  9. Liverpool Hospital
  10. Fairfield Hospital
  11. Westmead Hospital
  12. Auburn Hospital
